My general orientation held on 16th-17th September 2016. In 2 days, i got a lot of information about college, their system in learning, and many organisation which could help me improve my skill and knowledge.
First day :
I arrived at Bina Nusantara University Alam Sutera Main Campus at 7.45 a.m. The event started at 8.00 a.m. There were five sessions and honestly it was very tiring. The first session was briefing including introduction and socializing with each other. It was an hour long from 8 to 9 a.m. After that, break session till 9.20 a.m. The second session was about binus way. In this session the buddy coordinator who was our senior told us about the curriculum, the marking system, and anything related to the university. At 11.20 a.m, the third session began. It was spirituality session and i am christian so me and my friends conducted worship. The fourth session began at 1.20 p.m. It was laboratory session and it was about binus maya. Binus maya is a website for students even staff. For me it is very useful because all information i need for college is in binus maya such as class schedule, attendance information, lecture, etc. Finally the last session in that day at 3.20 p.m. The session called bunga rampai. It was about university organisation that i can join to develop my skills. It was like extracurricular in highschool. In Binus, it called UKM. There were so many UKM such as basketball, soccer, computer, english, mandarin, computer, and many more. Each UKM promoted their activity to make us join them. In the end i chose basketball, music, and computer learning. At 7.00 p.m the session done and I went home.
Second day :
The last day of general orientation started at 8.00 a.m. I arrived at 7.45 a.m and went ahead to the classroom on the 9th floor. There were only for sessions in these day. The first session called “”Sukses Kuliah & Aturan Tata Tertib Kehidupan Kampus”. It was about how students can succeed in their college and rules in campus society. Actually, it was very useful for me cause i am new and know less about college. At 9.20 a.m, the seconf session began. It was about binusian journey, things that we as student should do in the future. The third session began at 11.20 a.m. It informed us about how to registration in facility which Binus University has such as internet hotspot, blog, etc. The buddy coordinator also told us about the system in test, how the score count and how to get card for the mid or final exam. Finally, the last session at 13.20 a.m “kebersamaan”. This session was my favorite cause i got so much fun. We played games and tried to beat another team. In the end, things that we learnt from the games were teamwork and trust to our friends.
